I’m going through a phase at the moment of making these every week! I love a crunchy snack (chocolate covered nuts are my kryptonite), but with slimming goals to achieve, I have to eliminate as much fat as possible.
Enter chickpeas. Once spiced and roasted, a bowl of this lovely superfood is transformed into a deliciously moreish, high-protein snack that I can enjoy with my G&T on a Friday night.
To make these, I drain and dry off a tin of chickpeas and cover them in a mix of cajun spice, paprika and a little salt. With a spray of oil, I cook the chickpeas in my Philips air-fryer for around 12-15 minutes. You can do them in an oven aswel, you just have to give them a shuffle on the tray around half way through, to make sure they’re evenly roasted.
The best thing about cooking chickpeas this way is anything goes with the flavour. I sometimes use a drizzle of honey if I’m in the mood for something sweet. The possibilities are endless!
