I love Chinese food. When ordering food in, it’s usually the box I tick for cuisine of choice. Like everyone should, I do indulge in a little cheat meal every now and then, but with Slimming World, eating is never really ‘cheating’, you just have to make wiser food choices. There are dishes on every Chinese menu that come in at around 7 or 8 syns*, which is great for when I can’t be bothered to cook, but on days when I want to use my syns for something else (eg. gin and tonic), I like to make my own healthier version.
This is my beef in oyster sauce. I’m not going to pretend this is a ground-breaking new recipe idea, but it’s easy to make and syn-free so that’s good enough for me!
To make this, lovely food optimising meal, I first marinate the beef in a mix of oyster sauce, soy sauce and 2 cloves of crushed garlic. Then, it’s just a matter of stir-frying the meat with lots of lovely veggies and serving with rice. Voila!– Chinese Fakeaway.
*Syns are the points system used on the Slimming Worlds plan. The daily allowance is 15 syns.
